In the past, candidates had this grievance that though they scored 99% in Class XII, they could not get admission to the Universities of their choice. This was basically because of the varied typology of questions and scoring patterns across different Boards in the country.
Earlier, each university had a distinct mechanism for taking admissions into their UG programs. To unify the process, the Education Ministry has assigned National NTA to manage CUET, thereby making the admission process more streamlined, and student-friendly.
The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI) has established the National Testing Agency as an independent under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions.
